During the holiday season we traditionally focus on the people and blessings for which we are grateful. LifeCenter Northwest takes this time to honor the courageous act of organ and tissue donation and the ultimate gift of life that has saved and healed so many.

This season of giving, we would like to take the time to give thanks for the generosity of donors and their families who so selflessly gave the gift of life and in turn have provided hope to people waiting for their second chance.

We also give thanks for transplant recipients and for everyone in our donation family who share their powerful stories of life and hope to help raise awareness about donation in their communities, and encourage others to learn more about the powerful gift of organ, eye, and tissue donation.

Although this is a time to give thanks for the gifts we have been given, we also want to recognize the transplant candidates and their families who are currently waiting for their gift of life. Their strength in the face of adversity exhibits their incredible courage and everlasting hope. Our mission is driven by you; we are committed to being the bridge between you and the generous donors who make second chances at life possible.

And we give thanks to those who help us build that bridge and collaborate as outstanding partnerships that make the donation process successful. Our work wouldn’t be possible without the hard work and dedication of the hospital staff and medical professionals we work with each and every day.

As you go through this holiday season, surrounded by friends and family, we ask you to keep those who have been touched by donation or transplantation in your thoughts.

In addition to taking this time to reflect and celebrate, the holidays are a great time to have a conversation with your family and friends.  As you gather together, take a few moments to talk to your loved ones about organ and tissue donation. Share with others the importance of the gift of life, and encourage them to register to be an organ and tissue donor if they support donation.

Together we can save lives during the season of giving. We wish everyone a peaceful holiday season full of love and happiness.
