This award honors and recognizes those who demonstrate a commitment to improving donation outcomes and culture through their actions, time, and energy. We are proud to announce that Cody Doane, BSRN, from Benefis Health System in Great Falls, Mont. is our latest LifeSaver Award winner!
Recently, LifeCenter Northwest was working with a donor’s family and facing some challenges. Cody was able to empathetically connect with the family and address many of their concerns regarding organ donation. Cody did an amazing job of listening to the family while also sharing how he viewed donation as an act of generosity and a powerful way to help others. Cody’s eloquence and kindness substantially impacted the donor’s family, and they eventually decided to fully support the donation process. Furthermore, the family expressed thankfulness and gratitude once they realized all the lives that would be saved due to their loved one’s donation.
Cody truly went above and beyond what we typically ask of hospital staff. We commend Cody for honoring this individual’s donation wishes while also compassionately supporting the donor’s family as they grieved and processed this loss.
