LifeCenter Welcomes New Directors in Human Resources and Clinical and Family Services
LifeCenter Northwest is proud to announce the newest members of its leadership team, Bart Smith, as Director of Human Resources, and Susan Cameron, as the first Director of Clinical and Family Services, a newly developed position.
Both join LifeCenter with substantial experience in their respective fields and with the healthcare industry. We are excited to add their knowledge and leadership skills to our team.
Bart worked at Seattle Children’s Hospital for nearly 10 years, where he led recruitment and functioned as a Senior Business Partner. He implemented continuous improvement by introducing a “Lean” recruitment dashboard, designed and created a centralized hiring process for nurses, and revamped the social media footprint of recruitment at Seattle Children’s.
He most recently worked at Virginia Mason Medical Center helping to incorporate the Virginia Mason Production System into HR work and providing direct support to executive and front line leaders on HR related business issues that impacted client groups and the medical center as a whole.
Susan joins LifeCenter Northwest with nine years of organ procurement experience following her most recent position at the Arkansas Regional Organ Recovery Agency (ARORA), where she served as Manager of Family Services. At ARORA, Susan worked closely with her team to improve the donation experience for families and she also helped craft the State of Arkansas guidelines on neonatal donation.
Susan also served as the chair, vice-chair, and secretary of the Association of Procurement Organizations (AOPO) Donor Family Services Council and has presented at numerous national conferences on simulation lab training, teambuilding, and authorization best practices.
