What we do for patients & families

Your patients and their families always come first, and we want the best possible outcomes for them. LifeCenter Northwest can help families find meaning in a time of terrible loss—and help all of us work together to save more lives.

Our top priority is the families of your patients, and caring for them during a tragic and difficult time. We offer valuable resources and help the family to say goodbye in whatever way they need. We strive to go above and beyond to ensure that families’ needs are met, long after the actual act of donation.

Below are some the services we offer donor families:

  • On-site, bedside emotional support
  • Guiding families through donation process, including extensive educational resources and an explanation of the timing and placement of organs
  • An 18-month minimum after-care program, which often continues years after
  • Ongoing telephone support and counseling referral resource, as needed
  • Information on transplant outcomes with general, non-identifying information about recipients
  • Bereavement support for all families, even if the loved one doesn’t qualify as a candidate
  • Help saying final goodbyes and knowing what comes next, including creating handprints, locks of hair, and facilitation of bedside rituals
  • Help with navigating issues such as funeral homes, questions about the medical examiner, and how to collect a loved one’s belongings from the hospital
