MTF Golden Hourglass Award

LifeCenter Northwest was honored to receive the Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation (MTF) Golden Hourglass Award in 2010 for excellence in the facilitation of donor release.

MTF Golden Mortarboard Award

LifeCenter Northwest was honored to receive the 2010 Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation (MTF) Golden Mortarboard in recognition of participation in the NOCC (National On-Call Coordinator) Education Program

Washington State Gift of Life Award

The Washington Gift of Life Award is presented annually by the Governor’s Office to six families or individuals identified in coordination with an organ procurement to represent all those in the state who have donated organs.

The 2011 Washington State Gift of Life Awards were presented to the families of the following:

  • Carlos Fernandez of Seattle, who donated his kidneys to two recipients;
  • Andrew Bible of Washougal, who donated his kidneys, liver, pancreas, heart and lungs to seven recipients;
  • Erick Lopez of Everett, who donated his kidneys, liver and heart to four recipients;
  • Charles “Kim” Slaughter of Bremerton, who donated his kidneys to two recipients;
  • Cassandra Jones of Deer Park, who donated her kidneys, liver, heart and lungs to five recipients; and
  • Alfredo Jeronimo of Malaga, who donated his kidneys, liver and heart valves to three recipients
Donor Designation Medal of Honor

Donate Life America (DLA) presents state teams the Donor Designation Medal of Honor for recognition of their achievements as part of the Donor Designation Collaborative.

The following states received medals in our service area:

Gold – Washington
Silver – Alaska & Idaho
Bronze – Montana

HHS Medal of Honor

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) have awarded hospitals with the prestigious HHS Medal of Honor. This award was given to a small number of hospitals nationwide. It recognizes hospitals for working collaboratively with their Organ Procurement Organizations to achieve organ donation rates of 75% or higher in a 12 month period.
